Our History

Founding and Establishment

Established in January 2023 at Alcock Reserve, Truganina, Victoria, Truganina United Cricket Club (TUCC) was founded by local cricket enthusiasts to promote unity and active lifestyles in the culturally diverse suburb of Truganina. Located in Melbourne’s fast-growing western suburbs, TUCC emerged to meet the demand for accessible cricket, welcoming players of all ages and backgrounds. The club is supported by dedicated volunteers and a leadership team, including President Mizan Rahman, Vice Presidents Tasaver Rafeeq and Joyjit Ray, Treasurer Rameez Khojani, General Secretary Jazeer Nijamudeen, and Junior Program Secretary Muhammad Hoque Emu. TUCC is affiliated with the Western Region Junior Cricket Association (WRJCA) and senior competitions.

Early Development (2023–2024)

In its first year, TUCC built a strong foundation by forming junior and senior teams and integrating with platforms like PlayHQ for streamlined operations. The club competed in the Western Suburbs Churches and Community Cricket Association (WSCCCA) T20 competition and T35 One day competitions.

Recent Achievements (2024–2025)

TUCC continued its success in the 2024/25 season, winning the Division 07 championship and securing runners-up in Division 02. The club expanded its junior programs, offering teams for Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, and Under-17, alongside the Junior Blaster program for ages 5–8. Community events like the Festival of Inclusive Cricket in August 2024 and partnerships with local businesses, have bolstered growth. Pre-season tournaments for seniors and juniors are scheduled for September 2025, with registrations open for the 2025/26 season.

Community Impact

Based at 73 Alcock Road, Truganina, TUCC uses cricket to foster teamwork, discipline, and inclusivity, reflecting the suburb’s multicultural ethos. In just over two years, the club has become a cornerstone of the local sporting community, distinct from other clubs like the Truganina Cricket Club, with a bright future in Australian grassroots cricket.
